“Since we’ve had our employee, DurhamEnable has continued to support us, so we do reviews, we do one-to-ones. We’ve never felt unsupported by DurhamEnable. They’re always just at the end of the phone.”Stanley Town Council

Even though every experience with Supported Employment is different, here are some steps we usually take.
We are always looking for opportunities to make connections, network, and build positive relationships with local employers. Our Job Coaches may speak to you at events, meet you at your business, or you may want to approach us to learn about the benefits hiring with DurhamEnable could have for you.
Job Coaches will learn about your recruitment needs and speak to you more about how Supported Employment can help you recruit and retain talented employees.
This is also a great chance to ask us any questions you may have about DurhamEnable and Supported Employment in general.
To ensure we match the right person to your business, our Job Coaches will complete a Job Analysis of the position you are recruiting for.
The Job Analysis allows us to understand everything about the role and how it fits in your business, so not only can we find the right person for you, we can understand how to best support them in their new role.
Once we know the role, we can match one of our jobseekers to you, by looking at how their skills match your needs, and how well they can integrate into your work environment.
We can set up a work trial which lets our jobseeker prove they can do the work and builds their confidence on the job before they move into paid employment.
Where one of our jobseekers may need specialist equipment in work, we can help you access funding to pay for equipment needed.
We can also advise on reasonable adjustments that can be made at little or no cost to overcome barriers to your new employee performing to their full potential.
When you hire with DurhamEnable, we continue to give support to both the employee and your business.
We can help your employee settle comfortably into their role and workplace, and help you access training, or funding needed for specialist equipment, so you can retain your new member of staff.
